課程概述

GREEK CIVILIZATION IS THE CRADLE OF THE WESTERN CIVILIZATION, AND GREEK PHILOSOPHY IS THE BEGINNING OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WESTERN PHILOSOPHY. THIS PURPOSE OF THIS COURSE IS TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE THOUGHTS OF DIFFERENT SCHOOLS AND PHILOSOPHERS IN GREEK PHILOSOPHY, AND TO CRITICALLY EXAMINE THOSE THOUGHTS. THE COURSE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS:
1) INTRODUCTION
1.1) WHY STUDY ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY?
1.2) SOME DIFFICULTIES IN STUDY ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY

課程目標
中文:在完成此課程後修課的學生應有能力
1) 對希臘哲學思想的特色提出一說明。
2) 指出各個階段的哲學學派及哲學家分別關切的哲學議題。
3) 對哲學思想在此時期是如何發展提供一完整的說明。
4) 對每位哲學家的思想有一基本的理解,並對他們的思想進行批判與評價。

英文:After the lectures students should be able to
1) Give an account of the characteristics of Greek thought.
2) Identify the problems concerned in each school and philosopher.
3) Give an account of how the philosophical thought evolves.
4) Have a basic idea of each philosopher’s thought, and critise and evaluate each philosopher’s thought.
